Bill to Require Legislative OK for Lottery Privatization Clears Assembly Panel

Legislation Assembly Democrats Vincent Prieto, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Daniel R. Benson, Patrick J. Diegnan Jr. and Wayne DeAngelo introduced to require any bid to privatize the state lottery be subject to approval of the state Legislature was advanced Monday by the Assembly budget panel.

Assembly Democrats Wayne P. DeAngelo and Daniel R. Benson on Tuesday welcomed Gov. Chris Christie's focus on Sandy recovery, but said focus must also be paid to key unresolved issues such as job creation, economic development, public safety and property tax relief. 

Bill Requiring Health Insurance Coverage of Pain Medication Approved by Assembly Panel

An Assembly panel has approved legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Herb Conaway, Jr., M.D. (D-Burlington) and Daniel Benson (D-Mercer/Middlesex) that would ease access to prescription pain medication for patients who need it by requiring certain health insurance providers to cover prescription pain medication.
