What a great turnout we had at the Democratic Convention! Both nationally and locally, it is an exciting time to be a Democrat. Under the leadership of Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes, our Party is stronger than ever. I am truly honored to be your new Freeholder, and I would like to thank you for selecting me to represent you. I took my oath of office this week and already started working on our County's business. I look forward to serving you on the Board and running with Sheriff Kevin Larkin, Freeholder Lucy Walters and John Cimino on the County Democratic ticket this fall. The success of Democrats throughout Mercer County lies in your being the eyes and ears of our Party in your community. Please let me know about any issues on which I can be of assistance. Also, please keep me informed of local events that you believe I should attend. I would be remiss if I did not thank Liz Muoio for her dedication to our County and its residents. She has been a tireless advocate on behalf of all of our communities for over seven years. In her new capacity, we have gained a strong voice for sustainable economic development in the Hughes Administration. Second, I would like to thank Rich McClellan for his service to our Party. His term as Chair has seen the Democratic Party rise to new heights, capturing all county offices, and I look forward to continuing that winning tradition this fall. Finally, I would like to thank all the candidates that participated in this convention. The process was open, and the discussion stayed on the issues. Their caliber and dedication speaks volumes about our Party's future. I look forward to building a partnership with each of our towns in the coming months. Thank you again for your leadership in our Party. I hope to see you soon on the campaign trail. Warmest regards, Dan Benson Mercer County Freeholder |

I am seeking the support of the Mercer Democratic Committee to fill the Freeholder vacancy created by Liz Muoio's selection as the new Director of Economic Development and Sustainability. The convention to fill the vacancy will be held the morning of March 15th at the Masonic Temple in Trenton. Please look around and let me know if I can answer any questions you may have.
